NEFAS was spawned in 1995 by Tom Pagotto (drum), Fabio Coviello (bass and vocals), Dario Pagotto (guitars and back-voc.), and the line-up never changed.The band approached to the extreme scene through a fast swedish-style death metal (as Grave played) and after two years NEFAS produced their debut demo tape "He was born" (1997) with the cover artwork drawn by Paolo Parente and an 'incantationesque' music touch.
Years passed and the tecnical and extremistic growth of the band brought NEFAS to a twist, intricated and more cruel attitude and brutal playing-style...so in 1999 the debut MCD "Transfiguration to the Ancients form" found the production with the collaboration of Michele Toscan of Nuclear Abominations rec. (again with the cover arwork by Paolo Parente). An hyperfast obscure and asphyxianting brutalic sound joined with lirics imagined as hymns concerning the cult of Ancient abysmal Babylonian and Sumerian deities of the underworld, that's the new way the band chose for his music! NEFAS found supporter and distributors all around the world (Relapse, Razorback, Displeased, Uxicon, Cudge Agency, Headfucker, Bruchstein, Shindy, Obscene, Deathgasm, Revenge, Cursed, …), played tons of gig with the most extreme italian bands (like Mind Snare, Bastard Saints, Awful, Braiwash, Morbus, Dysmorfic…) with the mexicans DISGORGE, with the dutch CENTURIAN in Belgium and, in 2001, a small summer european tour (playing also at Brutal Assault #6) with the friends Bastard Saints for the promotion of their new split MCD , "Ropes above an Abyss of Fury" released for the new born label 'the FLOOD Rec.'.
The split includes a revised song ('Cross every limits, cross every time') from the debut demo-tape and a new track ('The passage').
